Ontario real estate exam results are usually released about 48 hours after the exam, by email and in the exam platform, and they show pass or fail only, with no score or percentage. If you fail, your result includes an Exam Performance by Area chart, you can request a $50 rescore, and you can buy a second attempt for $120. If you fail the same course or simulation exam a second time, you must repurchase and repeat the course before writing again.

When do you get your exam results?
Typically about 48 hours after you finish, sent by email and posted in the exam platform. In rare cases RECO may hold a result for longer. Your provider may also post it: under Humber Polytechnic's policy, results go to the learner portal, and Humber does not give results by phone or email.
If something depends on the outcome, such as booking your next exam or arranging time off, leave a few days of room rather than assuming the result lands at exactly 48 hours.

No numeric pass mark is published. It is set by a standard-setting method, and you pass or fail on the whole exam, not section by section. Each question is right or wrong with no partial marks, and blanks count as wrong. The passing score guide explains this in more detail.
The chart is a diagnostic, not a verdict on each area. A weak bar did not fail you by itself; it shows where your marks were thinnest relative to the rest of the exam.
Can you get your exam rescored?
Yes. You can request a rescore for $50, and the fee is refunded if an error is found. It is worth considering when you have a specific reason to suspect a marking error, not as a second opinion on close answers.

The fee is the same online or in person. These rules apply to the course exams and the simulation exams alike.
Is there a waiting period before a retake?
The handbook states no waiting period between attempts. Your eligibility to rebook comes through your education provider, though, and questions about retake timing go to them. Some providers add their own rules; Humber Polytechnic's policy, for example, says rewrites must meet its "progression period" requirements. Check with your provider before you pick a date.
Keep the program deadline in mind as well. Pre-registration must be completed within 24 months from the day your first course began, and a repeated course uses part of that window.
How do you book a retake?
The same way you booked the first attempt: through your provider's process, then scheduling and paying with Meazure Learning. Online proctored exams can be booked from 24 hours ahead; in person exams need at least 48 hours. If you need an accommodation, request it through your provider before scheduling.
How do you diagnose a failed attempt?
The chart tells you where you lost marks; your memory of the sitting tells you why. Work through four questions honestly:
- Did you run out of time, or finish with time to spare?
- Were the misses concentrated in a few areas on the chart, or spread evenly?
- Were you choosing between two options and picking wrong, or unable to narrow to two at all?
- Did anything feel genuinely unfamiliar?
Each answer points to a different fix, and treating them all as "study harder" is how second attempts fail.

Narrowing to two and picking wrong needs deliberate practice rather than more content.
Should you rebook right away?
Only if the diagnosis supports it. A quick rebook makes sense when the problem was pacing or one narrow gap you can close fast. It is the wrong call when you could not reliably narrow the options, because a rushed rewrite tends to repeat the first result, and a second fail costs you the course.
Set a readiness standard instead of a study duration. On a timed practice set covering the full course, drawn from questions you have not seen recently, you should be answering correctly on the first try and able to say why each wrong option fails. If you are getting questions right but cannot explain the near miss, you are not ready yet, whatever the score says.
What if you passed, but only just?
You will not know your margin, since results are pass or fail. But if you finished unsure on a lot of questions, take it seriously. Duties introduced early reappear inside harder transactions in Courses 3 and 4 and in both simulations. If Course 1 felt shaky, go back over representation and disclosure before Course 2.
